Background
The 460 MW coal-fired power station was proposed by GEK Terna, at a cost of $900 million euros, and a proposed start date of 2016-7.[1]
The power station was not part of the country's 2010 energy plan, and was likely cancelled due to a 2009 decision by the Greek government to end hard coal imports in favor of using natural gas in future plants.[2]
