EDF, the acronym derived from when the company was created in 1946 as Electricité De France, is a French headquartered energy company with interests spanning from electricity generation to trading. The company has interests in energy projects in Europe -- France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy in particular -- and the United States, China, Laos and South Africa.[1][2]
