Background
The Rampur coal plant is a proposed 1,000 megawatt (MW) coal-fired power station planned by Finolex for Rampur, in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, India.[1] Maharashtra is among India’s most industrialized states, and representatives say they are seeking to make the state an "attractive investment destination" for manufacturers to maintain its primacy in the sector.[2]
