Background
Latur power station is a proposed 1320 megawatt (MW) coal plant in Maharashtra state, India.[1] The project is sponsored by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (Mahagenco). According to a November 2010 company presentation, the project is in the "planning and engineering" phase and is scheduled for operation in late 2016.[1]
