Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is a corporate law law firm with offices in Albuquerque, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, Reno, Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Sante Fe and Washington D.C. There are 250 attorneys and policy consultants on staff and main areas of practice are corporate and business, government relations and public policy, litigation, natural resources and real estate.[1]

The firm is also a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), with members on its Energy, Environment and Agricultural Task Force.

About ALEC
ALEC is a corporate bill mill. It is not just a lobby or a front group; it is much more powerful than that. Through ALEC, corporations hand state legislators their wishlists to benefit their bottom line. Corporations fund almost all of ALEC's operations. They pay for a seat on ALEC task forces where corporate lobbyists and special interest reps vote with elected officials to approve “model” bills. Martin Shultz, Senior Policy Director of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, is a Co-Chair of ALEC's Energy, Environment and Agricultural Task Force as of 2011.
