AES Gener is the largest thermal generator and second largest electricity generator in Chile, operating 21% of the country's total generating capacity (2,858MW thermal and 271MW hydro). The firm owns and operates power plant facilities operating on coal, gas, diesel, biomass and water. The firm also operates in Argentina and Colombia. AES Gener is controlled by US power company AES Corp.
