Background
In June 2014, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) signed an agreement with China Machinery Engineering Company (CMEC) to built a 330 MW coal plant. The power from the plant will supply electricity to textile mills that belong to APTMA, addressing the chronic power shortages facing the mills.[1] APTMA has also agreed to execute power purchase agreements with CMEC.[1]
This may be the same project as the Salt Range power station, which has been cancelled. If not, it has likely also been cancelled, since as of November 2016 there has been no more recent news on the project.
