"Action Tutoring was founded by Susannah Clark in 2010. Having tutored privately since 2008, Susannah saw first-hand the ability of one-to-one academic support to improve pupils' exam performance. Whilst also being involved in youth work in Peckham, she became increasingly aware that private tutoring will simply never be an option to many pupils, hence Action Tutoring was formed.
"The Shaftesbury Partnership helped to incubate a pilot programme through late 2010 to Spring 2011, working in partnership with the Petchey Academy in Hackney and the Harris Academy in Peckham. 20 pupils and 20 volunteer tutors were involved, providing one-to-one tuition in English and Maths."[1]
