Background on Plant
Adamow power station is a five-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 600 MW. The plant was completed between 1964 and 1966, and is owned by ZEPAK, which is co-owned by Elektrim SA (39%), the state (50%), and employees (10%).[1]
The decommissioning of the facility is planned by the end of 2017. Poland has repeatedly sought the extension of the plant's operations with the European Commission.[2]
The plant was closed down on January 1, 2018.[3]
