Africa Direct is an think-tank with close links to the LM group. Staff members include John Pender and Rwandan genocide revisionist Barrie Collins, both associates of the LM network.

The organisation describes itself as "a reference point for critical debate on African issues. We are a voluntary group of researchers, writers and campaigners based in the United Kingdom. We address a wide range of issues, including population, human rights, non-governmental organisations and development." [1]

Barrie Collins and John Pender both contributed essays to Rethinking Human Rights: Critical Approaches to International Politics", Palgrave Macmillan, 2002. It is not known whether Africa Direct is still used as an umbrella for their activities. Collins and Pender have both collaborated closely with the anti-sustainable development platform WORLDwrite.

Rwanda: The Great Genocide Debate

On 27 July 1997, Africa Direct held a conference "Rwanda: The Great Genocide Debate". In contrast to mainstream thinking, the refusal to recognise that genocide occurred in Rwanda in 1994 was characteristic of the discourse at the conference. [2]
