Agios Dimitrios power station is a five-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,595 MW. The first four units are subcritical and 300-310 MW each, completed between 1984 and 1986. The fifth unit is a 375 MW supercritical unit, completed in 1997. The plant is owned by Dimosia Epicheirisi Ilektrismou. The plant is in the heart of the Western Macedonia lignite fields.[1]
