Alicia L. Simmons
Alicia L. Simmons "is currently the Office Manager for the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. She is the immediate former Congressional Outreach Director and Director of the Washington, DC Office for The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, where she worked to improve and strengthen race relations between minority communities in America as well as build relationships between the five ethnic congressional caucuses.
"Ms. Simmons’ background is a diverse mix between political and non-profit organizing. She has served at the Democratic National Committee, National Coalition for Black Civic Participation and the National Organizers Alliance. She has worked on local, state and national campaigns including Frazier Kimpson for State Representative, the re-election of John Street as mayor of Philadelphia, PA, and Kerry/Edwards 2004. She has also consulted for several organizations including the Black Leadership Forum and MELA Associates, a Department of Defense Contractor.
