American Beverage Licensees

American Beverage Licensees decribes itself on its website as "an association representing off-premise licensees in the "open" or "license" states and on-premise proprietors in markets across the nation. ABL was created in 2002 after the merger of the National Association of Beverage Retailers (NABR) and the National Licensed Beverage Association (NLBA)."[1]

ABL was represented in 2002 by lobbyist Rick Berman, the president of PR company Berman & Co..[2]

In February 2005 Berman announced a campaign aimed at persuading General Motors to drop its financial support for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
