Amira Diamond, Co-Director of the Women's Earth Alliance.
"Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Amira Diamond has 17 years of experience as an organizer, fundraiser, producer and facilitator in the social profit arena. Before WEA, Amira served as the West Coast Director of Democracy Matters, founded by NBA player Adonal Foyle, where she launched college student chapters while teaching street theater, leadership skills and public speaking. After speaking at the first zero-waste rock concert, We the Planet 2004, Amira took a position as the Associate Director of Circle of Life (COL). There she partnered with Alissa Hauser and Founder Julia Butterfly Hill to produce cutting edge eco-events and to support the reorganization of COL into its current incarnation as the Engage Network. A vocalist and violinist since childhood, Diamond currently directs the Social Prophet Choir, a 75+ person group of artists, green business owners and NGO organizers. Amira graduated from Colgate University with a degree in Women's Studies." [1]
