Background on Plant

The five-unit, 285-MW coal-fired Amurskaya-1 power station is owned by RusHydro. The plant’s five units were brought online between 1967 and 1987.[1][2]

In November 2019 the construction of a second ash dump for the plant was completed and will allow the plant to operate for another 25 years, according to RusHydro's subsidiary the Far Eastern Generating Company.[3]
