Andrés Thompson
Andrés Thompson "is a program director for Latin American and Caribbean programming at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Michigan. Based in Sao Paolo, Brazil, he reviews and assesses new grant proposals in the programming area of philanthropy and volunteerism, while also managing and monitoring active projects. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. Thompson served as a researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technological Research and the Center for the Study of State and Society in Buenos Aires. He has worked as a consultant for UNICEF-Argentina, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, and various non-profit organizations in Argentina and Latin America. He has written several books and articles on philanthropy, non-governmental organizations and development, and previously taught courses on non-profit organizations and history. He earned a master’s degree in development studies from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands. Mr. Thompson has served as a resource specialist for several Salzburg Seminar Sessions, most recently Session 389, Linking Theory and Practice in Nonprofit Leadership and Management, 2001." [1]
