"Andrew Morton is an associate with the Litigation Department and Government Relations Group in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Morton is instrumental in Latham’s firm-wide “Child Refugee Project”. He has provided pro-bono legal representation to numerous unaccompanied children detained by the Department of Homeland Security and serves as Pro Bono Counsel to the Women’s Commission for Refugee Women and Children and to FilmAid International. His advocacy on behalf of refugees and asylum-seekers was recognized in 2002 when the D.C. Bar Association honored Mr. Morton as “Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year”. Mr. Morton is a frequent speaker on immigration reform and child refugee issues. He has testified as an expert witness before the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. Mr. Morton earned a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland School of Public Affairs, concentrating on international security and economic policy, as well as campaign finance reform and international human rights. He graduated with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania Law School." [1]
