Anhui Hwasu power station (淮北矿业华塑自备热电厂) is a 600-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Anhui Province, China.

Background on Plant

Anhui Hwasu power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 600 MW in Anhui Province. The plant was completed in 2012, though it only received its EIA clearance and DRC permit in 2015.

It was built as a captive CHP power plant to supply power and heat to the first phase of Anhui Hwuasu's PVC project, which went into operation in 2013.

Proposed expansion

The second phase of Anhui Hwuasu's PVC project would include an additional three coal-burning units of 300MW each. The units were reportedly starting construction in November 2016, however no evidence of an EIA or construction about the second phase of the PVC project and its captive power plant can be found.

As of December 2019 there has been no progress on the units, and they appear to be abandoned.
