Anthony Coley
In April 2007 Anthony Coley was appointed by Governor Jon Corzine as his press secretary and chief spokesman, the Director of Communications for the State of New Jersey. He had previously worked as then-U.S. Senator Corzine's spokesman in Washington. [1] [2] [3]
Before his time with Corzine, Coley worked as communications director for U.S. Senator Zell Miller (D-Georgia) and U.S. Representative Harold Ford, Jr. (D-Tennessee). During the 2004 election cycle, he was a spokesman and regional communications director for the Kerry-Edwards presidential campaign. The LaGrange, North Carolina native received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Morehouse College and his Masters of Arts in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University. [4]
Calling him a "superb model of communications excellence," the Public Relations Society of America, New Jersey chapter, named Coley the 2007 Public Relations Professional of the Year.[5]
