According the Jim Kolbe, the Arizona-Mexico Commission is the god-father of CANAMEX. [1] AMC has a number of members on Arizona state committees and public private partnerships. AMC takes credit for the Deepwater Port expansion of tourism and trade in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, part of the CANAMEX Corridor. Sandra Watson is involved with the AMC, the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), Arizona Department of Commerce, Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), and the Arizona International Development Authority (AIDA), Marisa Walker is part of AMC and AIDA. Todd Sanders is part of AMC and MAG’s EDC. James Manson and Gary Magrino are part of AMC and AIDA. Arizona Representative Russell Jones is part of AMC, various state committees, was directly involved with CANAMEX.
AMC is partnered with the North American Center for Trans-border Studies (NACTS) [2] at Arizona State University, who has done research and promoting for the CANAMEX corridor idea. [3]
