{{#Badges:CoalSwarm|navbar-Indiacoal}}Atlas Power India Pvt Ltd have proposed to build a 1,320 megawatt coal-fired power station in Karnataka, India. In May 2008 the company signed a memorandum of understanding with PTC India, an by the Indian government agency to promote power developments.[1]
While the initial location for the project was proposed as being in the Gulbarga district in the state, an August 2010 Ministry of Coal document states that the project has been proposed to be built in Kadechur of Yadgir Taluk, Yadgir district in Karnataka. The Ministry of Coal note that Atlas Power had earlier applied for the project to be in Gulbaraga district. The Ministry of coal also note that the company is seeking coal from either Singareni Collieries or Western Coalfields Limited (WCL).[2]
