"b-inspired is the trading name of the Braunstone Foundation and is a neighbourhood-based charity in Braunstone, Leicester. We established in 2010 to carry forward the ground breaking work and legacy created by the BCA since 2000. We have worked to change Braunstone for the better, and together we have achieved a great deal. Working with the community, we have gained a unique insight into the real life issues close to the hearts of our residents. In identifying these issues, we have built active relationships with a huge number of organisations over a wide spectrum and have successfully delivered products and services for local people." [1]
"In September 2012 we were successfully ap-proved for £867,000 worth of ERDF funding to start work on a new consortium project called Leicester for Business. It comprises of seven partner organisations, with a target of supporting 380 pre start individuals, 380 ex-isting businesses and creating 80 new jobs and 80 new businesses. The www.leicesterforbusiness.org.uk website launched in Febru-ary with a launch event in April 2013...
"b-working has seen a drop in the partner organisations using the building as a permanent basis. This is due to funding cuts in partner’s provision. b-working maintained strong links with all its partner’s and even if a service could not be provided from the centre strong links and points of contacts were in place to ensure that all clients are supported and have barriers and issues dealt with.
"The biggest loss to the service was the provision of the CLAC (Community Legal Advice Service). This service had been a life line for residents who have needed debt, benefit and financial support . The national funding for this ended in February 2013. Further funding will come on line in the next financial year and b-working worked hard to support these bids to ensure that the correct level of outreach provision is available in the future...
"b-working worked in partnership with Go Travel Solutions and b-active to support the de-livery of the sustainable travel programme. This is a 3 year contract (until 2015) and fo-cuses on advising SME’s on how to encourage staff to travel sustainably and access grants to support this. b-working’s role was to provide administrative support."
