Baiyinhua Haizhou No.4 Surface Mine (内蒙古白音华海州露天煤矿有限公司四号露天矿) is a large-scale underground mine developed by Inner Monoglia Baiyinhua Haizhou Surface Mine Co. It is located in West Ujimqin Banner of Inner Mongolia, China. Currently, the project contains two phases. The first phase of the project is an open-pit mine with a production capacity of 5 million tonnes(Mt) a year, while the second phase is an underground mine with a similar production capacity.[1]

Coal Mine Background

The development of Phase I project of Baiyinhua Haizhou No.4 Surface Mine was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in 2006.[2]

In December 2016, the NDRC has ratified the construction of Baiyinhua Haizhou No.4 Surface Mine (Phase II) with a total production capacity of 5Mt/year.[3]
