Background on Project

Ningxia Baota Group was planning a 2 x 350 MW power station in Xinjiang Autonomous Region. It started construction in 2011. By 2014, the plant was 60% completed.[1][2][3]

Progress on the power station stopped in 2016 due to lack of investment and dim market prospects. In January 2017, it was reported the plant was sponsored by a consortium led by Doof Holding Group and HNA Group, who said they plan to revive the project. The power plant is a captive one for a petrochemical project.[4]

As of December 2019 there have been no further developments, and the project appears to be shelved.
