Background on Plant
In a 2011 presentation by Enel, the company stated it was pursuing an 870MW coal-fired power station in partnership with Duferco. The power station was listed as a greenfield project close to the port of Bar, with a proposed cost of 1,5Bln€. Enel said the feasibility study had been completed.[1] Duferco's website listed the project as a "greenfield 800 MW imported coal power-plant project" between Dufenergy Italia and Enel.[2]
The Bar project was not mentioned in the "Strategic Environmental Assessment for Energy Development Strategy in Montenegro by 2030," released in 2014, and was likely cancelled.
