"Dr. Crane leads Ipas initiatives to advocate for policy change, as well as its programs in research and evaluation. She has helped engage reproductive health and rights organizations around the world in improving the global dialogue around safe abortion policy and programs. From 1992 to 2000, Dr. Crane served as Senior Policy Adviser in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of Population, where among other things she coordinated USAID participation in the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and in the 1999 five-year review of ICPD. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and books in the areas of population, development and reproductive health policy. She has also taught at the University of Michigan and Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr. Crane holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan and an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy." [1]
