Barbara Dean

Barbara Dean "is a co-founder of Island Press and now serves as Executive Editor, with primary responsibility for developing the award-winning ecosystems studies program. She is the author of Wellspring: A Story from the Deep Country and articles in Orion, Northern Lights, The Sun, and Wild Duck Review. She serves on the advisory board of Conservation magazine and on the Board of Directors of the Wildlands Project. In addition to her Island Press experience, she has been a consulting editor for Sierra Club Books. She holds an A.B. in French from Duke University and a M.A. in Psychology from California State University, Sonoma."
