Belgium is a small country in Western Europe, touching France to the south, Germany to the east, and Netherlands to the northeast. Belgium consists of three regions. Flanders is in the north part of Belgium with the official language being Dutch. Wallonia is in the south part with the official language being French. In the Brussels-Capital region both languages are used. [1]

Brussels is the capital city. The city of Antwerp is considered the diamond capital of the world. [1]

Tobacco industry involvement/activities in Belgium

A Philip Morris matrix/chart lists "to-do" type tasks for the company to address secondhand smoke issues in Europe. Tasks listed include "Restore Smoker Confidence," "Reverse Health Perception," "Establish/Maintain/Exploit Smoker Clubs," "Resist Smoking Restriction" and others. Check boxes are provided for the countries of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait GCC [Gulf Council Countries], Turkey, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.[2]
