Ben F. Johnson, III
Ben Johnson "is Alston & Bird’s Managing Partner and has served in that capacity since 1997. He has practiced law at the firm since 1971 and was named a partner in 1976.
"Noted for his leadership and involvement in educational, civic, and cultural endeavors, Mr. Johnson serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Emory University and is Chairman of the Board of Atlanta’s Woodward Academy. He also serves currently as a board member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta’s Midtown Alliance, which he chaired from 1997-1999, the Metro Atlanta YMCA, and the Atlanta Symphony. He is also a Trustee of the Carter Center and the Charles Loridans Foundation, as well as a Director of the Commerce Club. Mr. Johnson was presented the 2001 Institute of Human Relations Award by the Atlanta Chapter of The American Jewish Committee in recognition of his service to Atlanta’s major organizations and institutions.
"He received his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Emory University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa." [1]
