Carter Center
The Carter Center, was formed by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn in 1982 in conjunction with Emory University in Atlanta. The mission of the Center is to advance "human rights and alleviating unnecessary human suffering".[1]
While its research role has much in common with other think tanks the Center has a strong emphasis in facilitating dispute resolution in countries around the world and practical projects such as monitoring of elections.
Their CEO and president is John B. Hardman.
They are a member of the UN Democracy Caucus.
In 2006 they received some funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
