Bhupendra Mistry "has considerable experience in community development and regeneration, having served in senior positions in Central / Local Government and the third sector in Birmingham , London and more recently in the North West of England.

"Bhupendra has focussed particularly on community based regeneration and social inclusion. He has a vast range of experience that brings in senior level management to project delivery on the ground, aiming to bring new thinking to area based regeneration and the role of communities in their areas.

"Currently he is Board Member of Carnegie (UK) Trust, Harvest Housing Group, Greater Manchester Police Authority, Cabinet Office Advisory Board – (Office of the Third Sector) and BBC World Service. Furthermore, he is a Specialist Advisor to the Board of Leicester Regeneration Company on community engagement and regeneration.

"In addition, he was a past Board Member of the Home Office Advisory Board - Futurebuilders, NACRO (National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders) and the Foundation for Civil Society. He is also Founding Director of Kamla Foundation, a charity registered in the UK working to help alleviate poverty in India.

"He has considerable senior management and policy analysis experience within the public, private and third sectors and led on a number of studies that reported and helped facilitate the work of the Home Office during the aftermath of the civil disturbances in northern towns in 2001.

"Bhupendra has spent the majority of his career in multi cultural inner city environments and has a strong personal commitment to equality, the recognition of diversity and the need to have a cohesive and inclusive society. These are the fundamental principles that guide his work. Bhupendra’s most recent work includes giving specialist advice on all aspects of community engagement, cohesion and consultation to a range of public, private and third sector bodies across the U.K."
