Bill Steigerwald is a climate change skeptic. Steigerwald, "born and raised in Pittsburgh, is a former L.A. Times copy editor and free-lancer who also worked as a docudrama researcher for CBS-TV in Hollywood before becoming a reporter for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and a columnist for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review." [1] until taking a buyout in early 2009.[2]. He is the son of the late William R. Steigerwald, "affable and wisecracking patriarch of a family of well-known Pittsburgh broadcasters and journalists", who died in 2008.[3]
