The Bothin Foundation (pronounced "bo-THEEN") "was established by Henry E. Bothin, his wife, Ellen Chabot Bothin, and daughter, Genevieve Bothin de Limur, and incorporated as a private foundation in the State of California in 1917.
"The Bothin Foundation supports organizations providing direct services to disadvantaged children, youth and families, the elderly and disabled, in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, and San Mateo Counties. The Foundation makes capital grants for building, vehicle, and equipment needs. The Foundation supports environmental and arts organizations to the extent to which they serve youth." [1]
