Brian Dubie is the Republican Lt. Governor of Vermont and one of the likely candidates for the Republican nomination to run against Independent U.S. House Representative Bernie Sanders for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Jim Jeffords. According a telephone poll of 400 likely voters conducted for WCAX-TV by Rockville, MD based Research 2000, Sanders would defeat Dubie by a stunning 62% to 18%. The same poll indicated that Sanders would defeat another possible Republican sacrifical lamb, business executive Richard Tarrant, 66% to 18%.
