Bridge Power Station is a 400-megawatt (MW) gas-fired power plant under construction in Tema, Greater Accra Region, Ghana.[1][2]

Background
Bridge Power received government approval in 2016.[3]
Construction started in 2017:
- "Stage 1 will use five GE TM2500+ gas turbines and one purpose-built GE steam turbine in a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) configuration that will collectively generate 200 MW of power. Stage 2 will add another 200 MW through four GE LM6000 gas turbines and one purpose-built GE steam turbine, again in a CCGT configuration. Together, this will amount to over 17 percent of Ghana’s reliable generation capacity."[2]
Three of the first five GE turbines were delivered in early 2019 and funded by Hungary. GhanaWeb reported, "Hungary has further supported the Project with financing through the Hungarian Export-Import Bank (HEXIM)."[4]
To get moving on the project before long-term financing was secured, the project used vendor financing for Stage 1. In addition, "construction of Stage 1 is expected to be completed within 24 months, although the project will start generating power in ten months initially, with the gas turbines operating in simple cycled configuration."[5]
