Bruce Budner

Bruce Budner is responsible for all facets of the Institute's operations and direction, including oversight of its intellectual work, fundraising, and long-range planning. He brings to the Institute a wealth of law firm and non-profit management experience. Mr. Budner was a trial lawyer in Dallas, Texas for 25 years and managing partner of his law firm for a majority of that time. He subsequently served as Legal Director of the non-profit Human Rights Initiative of North Texas, where he was responsible for representing asylum seekers and overseeing and recruiting a sizable roster of volunteer attorneys. In Dallas, Mr. Budner actively served on the boards of a wide variety of charitable, community and educational organizations. Since moving to the Bay Area, he performed volunteer services for several organizations before becoming Senior Advisor to Rockridge in 2005 and Executive Director in 2006.
