Bruce Russett
Bruce Russett, Ph.D., Yale University, 1961, is Dean Acheson Professor of International Relations and Emeritus Editor "of the Journal of Conflict Resolution. He has been President of the International Studies Association and the Peace Science Society (International) and a Fellow of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study, and holds an honorary doctorate from Uppsala University. He has held Carnegie, Center for Global Partnership, Ford, Fulbright-Hays, German Marshall Fund, Guggenheim, Korea Foundation, MacArthur, Social Science Research Council, U.S. Institute of Peace, Naval War College, World Society Foundation, and National Science Foundation awards, and has held teaching or research appointments at Columbia, Harvard, M.I.T., Tel Aviv, Tokyo University Law School, the University of Michigan, and the University of North Carolina. He teaches Theories of War and Peace, and Democracy, Interdependence and Peace, and Classics of International Relations. His more recent books include Grasping the Democratic Peace: Principles for a Post-Cold War World, 1993; The Once and Future Security Council, 1997;; Triangulating Peace: Democracy, Interdependence, and International Organizations, 2001; New Directions for International Relations, 2005; Purpose and Policy in the Global Community, 2006; International Security and Conflict, 2008; and World Politics: The Menu for Choice, 9th ed., 2009."
