C. Fred Bergsten
C. Fred Bergsten is Co-Founder and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Center for Global Development. Bergsten "has been Director of the Institute for International Economics since its creation in 1981."[1]
Bergsten was also "Chairman of the Competitiveness Policy Council, which was created by Congress, from 1991 to 1995, and Chairman of the APEC Eminent Persons Group from 1993 to 1995. Mr. Bergsten was Assistant Secretary for International Affairs of the U.S. Treasury (1977-81) and Assistant for International Economic Affairs to the National Security Council (1969-71). He has been a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution (1972-76), the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (1981), and the Council on Foreign Relations (1967-68)."[2] He is a member of the executive committee of the Trilateral Commission.
