Background on Project
CITIC Group and Shandong Energy are seeking clearance for a 2 x 350 MW coal plant in Ulgai District, Xilingol Prefecture.[1] The plant would be fueled by a nearby mine, also proposed.[2]

Due to new restrictions announced during 2016 by the National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, further capacity expansions at this location appear to be on hold or cancelled.
