Changshu-1 power station (中电国际常熟发电公司) is a 3,320-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Jiangsu Province, China.

Location

The photo below shows the power plant complex, which is located near Changshu City, Suzhou Prefecture, Jiangsu Province. The oldest four units (Changshu-1 Units 1-4, built from 1993-1995), are in the center. To the east are Changshu-2 Units 1-3, built in 2005 and 2006. To the west are Changshu-1 Units 5 & 6, built in 2012 and 2013.

Background on Plant

The six coal-fired units of Changshu-1 power station, totaling 3,320 MW, were brought online between 1993 and 2013. The plant was originally owned by CPI.[1][2][3]

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[4]
