CPI Huolinhe power station (国家电投露天煤业通辽霍林河坑口发电公司一期) is a 1,200-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.

Background on Plant

The two existing coal-fired units of CPI Huolinhe power station, totaling 1,200 MW, were completed in 2008. The plant was originally owned by CPI.

Description of Expansion

CPI has proposed plans to build additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 1,200 MW or 2,400 MW.

With no developments since 2011, Phase II of Huolinhe appears to have been cancelled.

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.
