CPI Weining power station (中电投威宁煤电一体化发电厂) is a proposed 1,320-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Guizhou Province, China.

Background on Project

CPI's Guizhou Jinyuan Group is planning for a coal-fired power station of two 660 MW units. The feasibility study was completed in 2014. Operation is planned for 2017. Long-term plans call for a total of six 660 MW units.

However, no news has been heard since 2014, and the project appears to be cancelled.

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.
