CPI Xinjiang Shanshan power station (国家电投鄯善发电项目) is a proposed 700-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.

Background on Project

According to WRI's 2012 "Coal Risk Assessment" study, CPI is planning to build a coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 700 MW in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

However, since no further reports of this project have been reported, it appears that the project has been shelved or abandoned.

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.
