Location
The map below shows the location where the plant would be built in Hui'an County, Quanzhou Prefecture.
Background on Project
According to the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission (August 2015), Quanhui is a proposed 2 x 600 MW industrial CHP power station for the province, with a 15 MW back pressure unit.[1] According to an earlier Fujian power announcement (May 2015), the power station would consist of two 660 MW ultra-supercritical units. The power station would be used to support Quanzhou chemical and petrochemical projects.[2]
Unit 1 (660 MW) and the 15 MW back-up unit were permitted for construction in March 2016.[3]
In February 2018 it was announced that construction on unit 1 and unit 3 was postponed.[4]
Unit 2
With no developments on unit 2 since the project feasibility study in 2015, plans appear to be abandoned.
