Carl Ungerer - Director of the Australian National Security Project for Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

"Prior to joining ASPI, Carl was a lecturer in international relations at the University of Queensland. His previous appointments include Foreign Affairs and National Security Advisor to the Leader of the Australian Labor Party (2002-2004), senior Strategic Analyst in the Office of National Assessments (1999-2002) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (1993-1999). Carl has published widely on foreign policy and national security issues, including The Politics of Nuclear Non-Proliferation (co-edited, 2001) and Australian Foreign Policy in the Age of Terror (edited, 2008)." "Prior to joining the University of Queensland in January 2004, Dr Ungerer was the Foreign Affairs and National Security Advisor to the Leader of the Federal Opposition. He has previously worked in Australia and overseas with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. From 1999-2002, he was a senior Strategic Analyst in the Office of National Assessments. Dr. Ungerer has lectured and tutored at the University of Queensland and Griffith University." [2]
