Carol A. Peasley
Carol A. Peasley "is a development professional who has worked in varied multicultural and political environments. Recently retired from USAID as Counselor to the Agency, she had a long and highly successful career with USAID, receiving the USAID Distinguished Career Award in 2004. In her 35 years of service at USAID, she held various leadership positions most notably as mission director in Malawi, senior deputy assistant administrator to the Africa Bureau, and mission director in Russia. Ms. Peasley achieved the highest rank of the Foreign Service as Career Minister in USAID. During her USAID career, she proved herself as a strategic planner adept in coordinating development and foreign policy priorities with budget realities, as well as a builder of partnerships with the private sector, non-governmental groups, universities, the Congress and other donors. Ms. Peasley holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a M.A. in Development Economics from Sussex University and a M.S. in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business (SLOAN). She’s received numerous awards for her leadership and performance in USAID and has a working knowledge of French, Spanish and Russian.“ [1]
