Catherine Powell "is an associate professor of law and the co-faculty director of the Crowley International Human Rights Program at Fordham Law School. She was the founding executive director of the Human Rights Institute at Columbia Law School, where she was on the faculty and taught the Human Rights Clinic. She was a law clerk for Judge Leonard B. Sand in the Southern District of New York, a staff attorney at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and a Ford Fellow in Public International Law at Harvard Law School. Powell serves on the board of Human Rights Watch and is the chair of its U.S. Program Advisory Committee.“ [1]
