Central Electric Power Cooperative is part of an extensive network of Missouri electric cooperatives, which together form the third largest electric network in Missouri, serving a demographic area that covers 80% of state. Central Electric is a Generation and Transmission (G&T) cooperative, owned by eight distribution cooperatives that together serve 165,800 residential, commercial, and industrial members.[1]
Central Electric Power Cooperative and five other Missouri G&T cooperatives together own Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc., which manages and dispatches power generation and transmission among all it's member organizations. Central buys power from Associated, but also manages its own coal power plant, listed below.
