Background on Plant

Nitin Thermal Power proposes setting up a 660 MW coal-fired power station at village Chaddhana in Madhya Pradesh. A terms of reference was issued in 2011 and extended in 2013, the initial step toward receiving an environmental permit.[1]

However, as of October 2016 the project has yet to receive environmental clearance, and plans appear to be deferred or abandoned.
