Background on Plant

Nitin Thermal Power proposes setting up a 660 MW coal-fired power station at village Chaddhana in Madhya Pradesh. A terms of reference was issued in 2011 and extended in 2013, the initial step toward receiving an environmental permit.

However, as of October 2016 the project has yet to receive environmental clearance, and plans appear to be deferred or abandoned.
