Chandrapura power station

Location

Background

The first six generating units of the Chandrapura power station were commissioned from 1964-1979.

Phase 2 of the power station added 500MW of capacity with the commissioning of two 250MW generating units (Units 7-8) in July and November 2011.

Retirement

Unit 1 (130 MW) was retired in January 2017. Unit 2 (130 MW) was retired in July 2017.
